Online Ordering Settings Page

We have added a new page to help you manage your business' online ordering settings for receiving orders from API & Call Center, and manage availability of all branches.

You can find the page by navigating to the Console > Manage > More > Online Ordering page.

In this page you can view all your branches, enable and disable online ordering (in bulk actions) and review the assigned device and/or its settings for each branch.

Here is what each color means in the branch status:

  • Green: Online Ordering is enabled and a Cashier device is assigned to this branch.
  • Yellow: Online Ordering is enabled but a Cashier device is not assigned to this branch.
  • Red: Online Ordering is disabled for this branch.

New Authorities for Cashier Users

We have added 3 new authorities to help you enhance and control your Cashier users operations. The authorities are:

a. Authority to Act as Waiter: Users who have this authority will be redirected to the tables page directly after accessing the register from the login screen. It is useful for waiters to be able to start an order by selecting the table first to open the order, then adding products to the order.

b. Authority to Edit Tables Layout: This allows the Cashier user to edit the Tables layout in the Cashier App. If a user does not have this authority and taps on the "Edit" button in the Tables layout, an authentication prompt will be shown to enter the password of an authorized user.

c. Authority to Close Till/Shift With Active Orders: To prevent users from accidentally or intentionally closing a till to leave their shift with active orders, an error message will be shown "No authority to close till with active orders" and the user must close or void the orders to close till.

This feature requires Foodics Cashier 5.0.28 (250) or newer versions.

New Settings for the Cashier App

We have a couple of new settings that are available in the Console that will help you enhance the Cashier experience. You can enable these features from the Console > Manage > Settings > Cashier App.

1. Mandatory Order Tags

If you require Cashier users to choose an order tag before closing the order, a new setting has been added that allows you to enable this requirement on the order types that you choose for your business operations.

If this is enabled, cashier users will not be able to proceed to the order’s payment screen if the order has no order tag assigned. Once an order tag is assigned, the order can be closed normally.

2. Kitchen Sorting Method

A new setting has been added to control how order products will be sorted in the Kitchen Receipt. The setting by default is set to "As added in the Cashier" which will sort the products in the the same order they are added by the Cashier user.

Or "Based on menu categories sorting" which will sort the products in the kitchen based on their sorting in the categories in the console.

This feature requires Foodics Cashier 5.0.28 (250) or newer versions.

Business Settings:

Please update to Cashier 5.0.24 (229) or newer versions to benefit from this feature.

Note: This applies only in Saudi Arabia.

Quantity Adjustment for Menu Products

You can now make quantity adjustment transactions in the console by selecting menu products that have ingredients. In a draft QA transaction, you can select Inventory Items or Products. If a product is selected, the console will create the transaction for the ingredients of the product and you can proceed to review the ingredients and submit the transaction as a regular Quantity Adjustment transaction.

Electronic Scale Integration

Foodics Cashier is integrated with a digital scale (Brecknell Scale 6700U). Digital scales are used to sell products (by weight) without the need for a barcode scanner.

Once a scale is integrated, you can add a product to the order, tap on the Read Weight from Scale button and the weight will be sent from the scale to the Cashier automatically.

Authority for Kitchen Reprint

This authority will prevent cashier users from sending an order to the kitchen more than one time. If the user has this authority and resent an order that has been sent to the kitchen already, the Kitchen Printer will print a `Reprint` kitchen receipt. If you'd like to use this feature, you can head to the Roles page in the Console and enable or disable this authority in the desired user's role.
